WILPATTU / SIGIRIYA

Wilpattu National Park the oldest and largest national park and is famous for watching wildlife within its picturesque villus and dry evergreen forests. You also have the option of doing a mid-day excursion to Kudurumalai point along the Wilpattu coastline, believed to be a location with historical background.  The area is characterized by steep cliffs and fossilized limestone remains and provides panoramic views of the Indian Ocean.  Wilpattu is a wonderful place for one to witness its usual wild inmates and an excellent birding location.

Thereafter leave for Sigiriya for Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel.

SIGIRIYA / MINNERIYA/ WASGAMUWA

Minneriya National Park

The Gathering of Elephants’, which is ranked among the world’s top wildlife viewing spectacles. You have excellent opportunities here to observe the large groups of elephants, sambar deer and toque monkeys as well as plenty of birdlife.

Wasgamuwa National Park

Lying at the foothill of the Knuckles mountain range is the Wasgamuwa National Park which gives you a tranquil wildlife viewing experience. It is bordered by the beautiful Mahaweli river which flows through the reserve where there you get dense riverine forests with large trees. Elephants are the highlight and large solitary bulls along with small herds comprising of females and their young. Mugger Crocodiles and Buffalo can be seen around the numerous waterholes while herds of Spotted Deer and the occasional Jackal can be seen in the open plains. Wasgamuwa is also an excellent birding location.

GalOya National Park

One of the least explored locations due to its remoteness is the Gal Oya National Park that serves as the main catchment area for Senanayake Samudraya, the largest reservoir in Sri Lanka from where you go on a boat safari to explore the area’s wildlife. The boat ride takes you through some stunning landscapes comprising of grasslands, rocky escarpments on the banks of the reservoir and provides panoramic views of the Danigala, Nilgala, and Ulpotha mountains ranges in the backdrop. The birdlife is excellent here and Gal Oya is a key nesting location for large congregations of waterbirds

Your Jeep will rumble through the large gates of Yalaenteringthe largest national park in the country to witness the rare sites of herds of elephant, sloth bear, spotted dear, jackal while the highest density of leopards garnishes the park with extensively populated birdlife.

Marvel at this vibrant city of modern life and remnants of a bygone colonial era. You will visit many of the historical, religious and commercial sites of Colombo including the historic and bustling Fort and Pettah.

Tonight, you can put on your party pants and enjoy the modern-day nightlife in the capital city of Colombo to end your tour in perfect way.
